In this article, we are presenting a model showing our understanding of theory and practice, as well as their relationship. The main idea is to use a set of maps representing the worlds of theory and practice in order to provide orientation regarding project management (PM). This serves as a basis for pointing out how to deal with situations in both everyday PM practice and PM research.
